What We Did
The Ochsner Outpatient Imaging Center is a ground up 26,000 square foot facility located on the Ochsner Main Campus. The building program consists of the relocation of six independent imaging modalities to this central location to offer convenient patient care. The design team used the opportunity to create a serene environment to promote relaxation.
Common design elements include architectural portals and splashes of color to provide intuitive wayfinding, copious interior glazing to provide separation in addition to a feeling of spaciousness, and wood materials to provide warmth. Where possible, daylight was used for patient comfort and employee well-being. Exterior materials include insulated metal panel, ACM panels, precast concrete panels, and curtain wall. A sunshade system was used on the south facing façade to reduce glare and solar heat gain.
